Memorial Hermann utilizes an electronic credentialing application which allows for expeditious application completion and an improved turnaround time. The eCredentialing application offers providers many benefits, including:

  • Secure online access from anywhere
  • Elimination of duplicate data entry
  • Ease and convenience
  • Capability to submit electronic signature and membership fees

In order to simplify the credentialing process for physicians, MHMD manages credentialing for each of our 20 contracted health plans. Member physicians only need to apply and be credentialed/approved one time rather than going through the credentialing process for each payer.  Please note requirements for credentialing are based on MHMD policies and procedures and regulatory agency requirements including National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC).

MHMD Credentialing Department’s primary responsibilities include:

  1. Ensuring quality, high-reliability care and patient safety
  2. Collecting application and credentialing data
  3. Reviewing and evaluating qualifications
  4. Complying with annual payer audits and other regulatory agency requirements
